Only in February (when the Hyundai Elantra topped the charts) and April (when the Toyota Corolla was the top-ranked car) did the Civic even temporarily cede its crown. After outselling the Hyundai Elantra by 9303 units in 2013, the Civic expanded the year-end gap to 15,637 units in calendar year 2014.
