2012 Ferrari 458 Italia China 20th Anniversary
FERRARI 458 ITALIA CHINA 20th ANNIVERSARY
The Prancing Horse is celebrating 20 years of presence on Chinese soil with a Ferrari 458 in a special edition of only 20 pieces designed just to Asian country.
The Chinese market and the recent special editions go hand in hand and further evidence comes from Italy made from a Ferrari 458 Maranello version limited edition of only 20 pieces, designed just for the populous Asian country. This limited edition is designed to celebrate the anniversary of the Ferrari brand 20imo on Chinese soil, and is mainly characterized by the theme Longma, an ancient Chinese idiom that represents "the vigor and spirit of the legendary dragon-horse".
The car body is painted with a color scheme called "Marco Polo Red" designed specifically for this special edition, while the alloy wheels have been painted with a very intense golden color, applied to the side skirts and other appendices. The theme Longma is proposed on the headrests, also finished with a golden color, while the start button on the motor sees the presence of the Chinese character equivalent to "start" in English. The center console is also a plaque bearing the inscription "20th Anniversary Special Edition".
In addition to that, Ferrari has announced in recent days that will be opened soon at the Shanghai World Expo Park, the first permanent exhibition of the Ferrari brand (with the exception of that found in Maranello, of course). This event, lasting at least three years, will host some of the best museum collections taken from Maranello, divided into five topics: China, Green Technology, Product Design and Racing. This Ferrari 458 Special Edition is ready to make its debut at Beijing Motor Show.

2012 Ferrari 458 Italia China 20th Anniversary Review
2012 Ferrari 458 Italia will mark the 20th anniversary of Ferrari in this oriental country of China. The first Ferrari sold in China was 348 TS and the introduction of the 458 Italia special edition of only 20 cars dedicated exclusively to the China market. The car’s livery is characterised by unique Chinese elements and is finished in a brand new colour called Marco Polo Red specially developed for this exclusive car which will be presented at the inauguration of the Ferrari Exhibition at the Shanghai Expo Park’s Italian Center.
The Ferrari 458 Italia is a very high performing and exclusive 8 cylinder mid-rear engined car which has won over 35 awards all around the world. The 458 Italia mixes very innovative technology with exclusivity and the interior design is created based on the unique Longma theme. The headrest features the Chinese culture reflected on the gold embroidery. The start button for the engine is adorned with Chinese quality for ‘start’.
The most eye-catching element of the car’s exterior is the golden dragon on the front bonnet, which is offset by gold and black livery stripes symbolizing a racing track. The image of the soaring dragon and the prancing horse on the front bonnet complement each other perfectly, and are the finishing touch to the car’s overall design. The symbols reflect both Chinese culture as well as Ferrari’s constant innovation.
This unique design is enhanced by gold finish to the rims and the aeroelastic winglets. The interior also reflects the unique longma spirit and the celebration of Chinese culture with gold embroidery on the car’s head rests, while the engine start button on each of the 20 cars is inscribed with the simplified Chinese characters for ‘start’, and a ’20th Anniversary Special Edition’ plaque is set into the dash.
